Supporting People > Need Some Company?

We all have times in our live when we feel a little lonely. You might have left work, or moved to a new area. You might have just become a full time parent or are looking for something new.

Whatever your reason Ephpheta has a lot of different events and opportunities for the community to spend time together.

If you are concerned about a family member or friend in our community, you can contact us to see if we can work with you to support them.

a. Deaf Café is open to any member of the Deaf community. Deaf café is a chance to catch up with friends and make new ones. Deaf Café is not a religious group and is open to all people regardless of their beliefs.

b. Pastoral Visits Ephpheta has a team of people who visit our community in their homes, nursing homes, and hospitals. These are called Pastoral Visits.
We visit people because:
  • They are going through a difficult time in their lives
  • They find it hard to get out
  • We have not seen them in a while.

You do not have to be sick to have a visit from our pastoral team. Pastoral visits are made to support someone emotionally, we do not provide social or welfare services but our staff are trained to be able to advise you on where you can go to get the services you might need.  If you or someone you care about would like a visit please contact us. » click here for contact

c. Visit us at the Ephpheta Centre, should you want to get out of the house, or would like some company, anyone from the deaf community is welcome to come and have lunch with the staff of the Ephpheta centre. Lunch is usually about 1pm and for a small donation we will provide you with a sandwich for lunch. Please contact us before to arrange a day you would like to come » click here for contact
